Whole genome sequencing of Ecolivirus Myo-P293, a lytic bacteriophage targeting avian pathogenic Escherichia coli

This project describes the whole-genome sequencing of Ecolivirus Myo-P293, a newly isolated lytic Myoviridae phage that specifically infects avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). The phage was recovered from duck farm sewage in Jiangsu, China, and displays strong lytic activity, biofilm disruption capabilities, and genetic similarity to members of the Felixounavirus clade. The sequencing data will contribute to the genomic characterization and potential application of P293 as a biocontrol agent in poultry production.
