资源简介:
In this study, we examined the effect of rewetting on peatland water storage capacity using three complementary methods, including a mesocosm experiment, a large-scale field experiment, and remote sensing. Thirty-six peat cores were extracted from a nutrient-poor boreal fen, Trollberget Experimental Area (TEA) (64°10′N, 19°51′E) in northern Sweden (Laudon et al., 2023). A mesocosm experiment was carried out in climate-controlled chambers for six months to examine the impacts of climate change and rewetting on peatland water storage capacity. The results from the mesocosm experiment were validated using the field data from Trollberget (Karimi et al., 2024). The same methodology applied in the mesocosm experiment was employed for the data from Trollberget for pre- and post-rewetting to estimate water storage capacity. InSAR-based European Ground Motion Service (EGMS) Ortho was used to monitor surface motion (uplift and subsidence) as a proxy for changes in the water storage capacity of peatlands (Khodaei et al., 2023).
Reference:Karimi, S., Hasselquist, E.
