Photobioreactors (PBRs) have become very attractive recently for the sun light-driven and controlled production of biofuels and the parallel possibility of efficient CO2 capturing. Here we report on the bacterial biofilm community of a PBRs inoculated with Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus obliquus. This analysis of the algae-associated biofilm metagenome is a first step towards a better understanding of the bacteria-algae interaction and gives new clues for improved operation conditions in PBRs.
