The bronchial microbiome of severe persistent asthma patients has not been studied. Its characterization in different samples is important because the type of respiratory samples studied is an important factor in interpreting lung microbiome studies. The objective of this work is to characterize the bronchial microbiome of oral corticosteroid-dependent asthma patients. We obtained lung specimens from bronchial biopsies (BB) and aspirates (BA) through bronchoscopy; after DNA extraction, 16S rRNA gene was amplified and sequenced in Illumina to obtain the taxonomic information.
