a Xanthomonas campestris campestris strain isolated in 2011 was characterised as copper resistant and contained copLABMGF genes. copper stress at 200 ppm was used as the stress conditions and differentially expressed genes 15 minutes after exposure were analyzed to document the initial response to this heavy metal concentration. This work serves to establish a soft benchmark of the early metabolic changes as part of a greater effort to understand the expansive response to copper stress in copper resistant Xanthomonas.
