China energy and CO2 emission account

China is now the largest CO₂ emitter in the world and plays the key role in global climate change mitigation. Here, we revisit the CO₂ emissions from fossil fuel combustion and cement production process in China during 2000-2019. Compared with previous estimates, we consider the emissions from the use of secondary fuels in our new estimates. Besides, due to the lag of publications of China Energy Statistical Yearbook for nearly two years, here we proposed an approach to obtain fast estimates of annual CO₂ emission estimates from fossil fuel combustion and cement process in 2018 and 2019. The dataset would be frequently updated when new China Energy Statistical Yearbook and China Statistical Communiqué are available.
