Reasons for intending to use the tap to pay function of credit cards in Japan 2022

According to a survey conducted in July 2022, a smooth in-store payment process was one of the main reasons for using the tap to pay function of credit cards among consumers in Japan. Over 30 percent of respondents intended to use the contactless function of IC credit cards because it enables a quick payment process. Other main reasons for using the tap to pay function were reward points and habit.
