MUTPL Amphibian Collection

The amphibian collection of the Museo de Zoología, Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja consist of approximately 1,700 specimens (by the end of 2023) preserved in alcohol. The majority of the specimens are from Azuay, El Oro, Loja, Morona Santiago and Zamora Chinchipe provinces, Southern Ecuador. The vast majority of the collection consists of frogs and toads (representing 15 families), with a small collection of salamanders and caecilians.
