RReal-World Effectiveness of Apalutamide in Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer: Results from the Multicenter APA-ROC Study of the Campania Oncology Network

Background and Objective: Real-world data on the use of apalutamide for metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) are limited. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and tolerability of apalutamide treatment using data from a multicentric Italian study. Methods: APA-ROC is a retrospective study conducted in 2022-2025 in seven Italian centres, including 262 patients with mHSPC treated with first-line androgen deprivation therapy in combination with apalutamide. PSA levels were assessed at initiation of apalutamide and at 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after starting treatment. Overall survival (OS) and radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) were analyzed using Kaplan-Meier curves.
