This dataset includes 959 whole-genome sequences of H1N1 subtype swine influenza viruses (SIVs) collected across China from 1977 to 2020. The sequences were obtained from GenBank and GISAID and used to analyze the genetic diversity, phylogeny, and evolution of H1N1 SIVs. The results revealed six major lineages and 25 genotypes, with the Eurasian avian-like (EA) lineage predominating. Several genotypes exhibited mutations related to mammalian adaptation and human receptor binding, suggesting potential zoonotic risk. This dataset provides a valuable resource for understanding the evolution and epidemiology of H1N1 SIVs in China.
