Description of the Interspecific Selective Hybridization (ISH) method for isolating fast evolving genes. The ISH method utilises liquid hybridization of complementary mRNA and single stranded cDNA pools of closely related species to isolated fast evolving transcripts. A cDNA library enriched in fast evolving genes is obtained after the controlled disannealing of heteroduplexes displaying many mismatched bases.
