Precipitation Occurrence Sensor System measurements

This data set contains measurements from a Precipitation Occurrence Sensor System (POSS) that is deployed at Summit Station, Greenland. This system is a small X-band radar sensor for detecting falling precipitation particles. It provides information on the size distribution and precipitation rate for liquid or solid precipitation. Detailed information on these parameters and other aspects of the dataset are included in the header information for each file. The POSS is owned by Environment Canada. Field operations support is provided by the National Science Foundation's Arctic Observing Network (AON) Program.
