This data set includes plot environmental and vegetation sample data for a project documenting conditions at two post-mining restoration sites in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania, USA. Samples at the Good Spring restoration site document vegetation and soil conditions following recent remediation and restoration of slopes of mine-waste piles. Samples at the Nanticoke site document conditions prior to planned restoration of Nanticoke Creek (another former coal mining site) to reroute the stream and improve downstream water quality.
