Groundwater microbiome study of an arsenic contaminated hotspot of West Bengal, India monitored over dry seasons.

Groundwater microbiome of an arsenic (As) contaminated hotspot of West Bengal, India has been monitored over dry seasons. Water table substantially drops during the dry seasons. Influx of surface water is relatively lesser in comparison to monsoon and As concentration is also found to be relatively higher during dry seasons. Hence, an attempt to determine the groundwater microbiome during this period has been undertaken followed by prediction of community potential.
