This special topic focuses on the species, quantity and distribution characteristics of characteristic forages in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Based on surveys of characteristic forage products and grassland animal husbandry development models in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from 2019 to 2024, a survey dataset of characteristic forages in typical counties of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has been compiled. The dataset includes wild forage survey information sheets, cultivated forage survey information sheets, wild forage specimen collection information sheets, cultivated forage specimen collection information sheets, wild forage plant lists, artificial grassland survey data information sheets, wild and cultivated forage collection information sheets, collected photos, grassland animal husbandry development models, and other related contents. This dataset is a basic investigation of forage products in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, providing foundational references for the development of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau forage products, the advancement of grassland animal husbandry, and the formulation of grassland-livestock balance zoning plans.
