The cider market in Switzerland is evolving, with a growing range of domestic and imported products available. Given this potential, 40 old apple varieties were selected as part of the National Action Plan for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Plant Genetic Resources (NAP-PGREL) and tested as to their suitability for cider production.
