Automated Bathymetric Mapping of 420 Tibetan Plateau Lakes by Integrating Observed and Virtual ICESat-2 Photons

This dataset contains bathymetric products and associated auxiliary data for 420 lakes larger than 10 km² across the Tibetan Plateau. The bathymetric data were produced using a automated framework that combines observed ICESat-2 photon-counting lidar measurements, reconstructed virtual ICESat-2 photons, surrounding topographic information, and prior bathymetric knowledge. The dataset provides regional-scale lake bathymetry information for high-altitude plateau lake systems and can support studies of lake water storage, lake morphology, water resource assessment, and climate-driven hydrological changes.
