The effect of ecological restoration on the structure and function of soil microbial communities in coastal wetlands (Targeted loci environmental). soil samples

This project seeks to evaluate the soil based biological and biogeochemical outcomes surrounding cranberry farm retirement. Samples were collected from dozens of sites spanning different management histories, including ecological restoration, simple retirement, and intentional flooding. The overall goal is to quantify the role that both passive and active ecological restoration plays in soil development, nitrogen removal, and carbon sequestration.
