资源简介:
Co-axial monitoring of the Direct Energy Deposition (DED) machine’s process allows a real-time material deposition study. Co-axial images, not only contain substantial melt pool information but also incorporate situational information like the number of sparks, the sparks’ intensity, etc. In recent studies, it has been shown that melt pool observations are correlated directly with the machine parameters and artifact’s properties. Therefore, having the melt pool information, not only can assist in measuring the machine’s working condition and determining machine operation parameters’ reliability, but also facilitates the deposition characteristics studies such as print’s regime and dimensions. This information is gathered meanwhile the fabrication is ongoing and can further be expended to perform various process studies and fault registration. In this paper, an Optomec DED machine is utilized to fabricate single-track line prints with various process parameters while a co-axial camera records the deposition. Each deposited track is then cut perpendicular to the print direction to facilitate process parameters correlation study with actual geometrical deposition measured using a microscope. The co-axial Images taken during the fabrication, along with their corresponding process parameters and cross-cut measurements and developed image processing toolbox are gathered and shared alongside this paper to empower future research directions.
