Microbial diversity associated to Plukenetia volubilis crops in Colombia

Plukenetia volubilis is a vine that belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family. This plant is native from the Amazon and can be found in the Andes Mountains. In the last few years, the production of Plukenetia has increased due to the consumption of its endosperm, as an important source of protein, and its oil, as a source of omega-3 fatty acids. Therefore, the present study intends to evaluate the microbial diversity of the root, the rhizosphere and the bulk soil of this plant as an approach to reach a sustainable production.
