NRS-23974 | Register of admissions and discharges [Newington State Hospital]

This series comprises registers of patients admitted and discharged from the Hospital. The earlier register date ranges refer to the date of a patients' first admission, from 1 February 1886 to 13 December 1889, with subsequent admissions of the patient added to the same register entry. The last date recorded in this volume is 14 August 1907.The later volume records each admission within a weekly period whether first time or recurring patients, with weekly totals of those admitted and discharged. The patients' name, age, date of admission and date of discharge (if applicable) is recorded. If the patient died or was discharged to another hospital/facility, that is also noted. The patients listed are predominantly elderly women, although there are some male names in the listing, usually written in red pen.
