Vagal neurons are an incredibly heterogeneous population of sensory neurons that are important for homeostasis. We used single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to interrogate their molecular diversity shortly after birth. Overall design: Vagal neurons from VGlut2Cre;R26-nGFP mice were isolated by fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) according to the presence of nuclear GFP at P4 and analyzed using scRNA-seq.
