<p>This map displays projected visible surface smoke across the contiguous United States for the next 48 hours in 1 hour increments. It is updated every 24 hours by NWS. Concentrations are reported in micrograms per cubic meter.<br /><br /><span style='font-size:medium;'><strong>Where is the data coming from?</strong></span></p><div><p><br />&nbsp;</p><div>The <a target='_blank' href='https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/weather-climate-models/national-digital-guidance-database' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'>National Digital Guidance Database (NDGD)</a> is a sister to the <a target='_blank' href='https://vlab.noaa.gov/web/mdl/ndfd' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'>National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD)</a>. Information in NDGD may be used by NWS forecasters as guidance in preparing official NWS forecasts in NDFD.
