资源简介:
In this study, we document the mitochondrial genome sequences of two ball-rolling dung beetle species, Gymnopleurus mopsus (Pallas, 1781) and G. geoffroyi (Fuessly, 1775), for the first time and infer the tribe level phylogenetic relationships of the Gymnopleurini with Scarabaeinae groups. The mitochondrial genomes of two Gymnopleurus species are circular DNA molecules (15,591 bp and 15,460 bp in size, respectively) and consist of 37 genes: 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes. The A-T content ratios for these genomes are 78.6% and 77.8%, respectively. Phylogenetic analyses, based on the concatenated nucleotide sequences of 13 PCGs and two ribosomal RNA genes, supported a sister relationship of Gymnopleurini (Gymnopleurus) with Phanaeini (Coprophanaeus sp.). This novel, complete mitochondrial genome information for these two species could provide valuable insights into the mitochondrial genome diversity and phylogeny of Scarabaeinae groups.
