This data was collected through an online survey of experts in the field of roadway and bridge inspection and repair to understand and characterize post-hazard restoration timelines. The hazards considered in this survey are earthquakes, tsunami/hurricane storm surge and flood-induced scour. The survey was created using Survey Monkey (SurveyMonkey 2012). A link to the online survey was sent out via e-mail to representatives from various State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) as well as experts in maintenance, repair and recovery. Overall, 29 responses were received; however the number of respondents varied for each specific hazard scenario and structure (roadway/bridge), based on the respondents' personal expertise. Included in this data publication are: the survey instrument in pdf format, the survey responses in .xlsx and .csv formats. A Readme file in pdf format explains the survey methodology and includes a data dictionary. Personal names have been de-identified. This dataset may be used by engineering practitioners, community planners, decision makers and academic researchers for developing models that predict repair/restoration action and corresponding repair times / traffic closure duration for typical damage scenarios, enabling improved natural hazard resilience modeling of transportation networks. The materials produced here are distributed under the Creative Commons (CC) attribution license. This covers the survey instrument and the survey responses presented in ".xlsx" and ".csv" formats. However, the images used to illustrate the various damage scenarios have been pulled from a variety of sources, which are duly cited in the "Readme.pdf" file. Individual images may be protected under their own license restrictions. If you wish to reuse any of these images for any purpose, please abide by the individual license restrictions of the corresponding image.
