Resistance to Latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis Infection-Immunologic profiling. Homo sapiens

Despite significant exposure to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), some humans remain uninfected as defined by persistently negative immune sensitization tests (tuberculin skin test, TST; interferon gamma release assays, IGRA). To explore mechanisms of resistance to TST/IGRA conversion, we profiled tissues (whole blood PAXgene RNA, monocyte RNA, methylation, ATACseq, proteomics) from highly-exposed Mtb contacts from two cohorts enrolled in Uganda and South Africa.
