Water temperature profile data were collected using Aircraft Expendable Bathythermograph (AXBT) casts in the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean during hurricane reconnaissance and research flights. Data were collected from 08 September 1997 to 23 September 2005 and submitted by Joaquin A. Trinanes of Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory in Miami, Florida.
