We evaluated the mutagenic effect of ethanol in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker yeast) by comparing mutation rates of yeasts grown in glucose versus yeasts grown in ethanol.We grew a haploid yeast strain for two and for for generations either in 0% ethanol or in 6% ethanol.
