Quiet areas in Flanders

This map shows the contours of the recognised areas with Quality Label Silence Areas and other acoustically examined silence areas in Flanders. Quiet areas are areas with a relatively low acoustic noise level and a pleasant acoustic sound climate. They are assessed on the basis of a number of criteria with an acoustic basis such as the maximum noise level, the number of non-area noise events and the percentage of non-area noise observed by a researcher. The map will be updated as new information becomes available. For example, if a new Quality Label Silence Area is awarded. The latest update dates from September 2024.
