Data and code for: Reserves are not exports: domestic demand and the future of Central Asia's gas corridor to China

Data and code behind a study of Central Asia's gas export capacity. The scripts build one production and consumption balance for Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan from a single cross-country series, decompose the loss of export surplus for every start year from 2010 to 2020, project the balance to 2040 under five scenarios and compute the break-even price elasticity at which domestic price reform offsets announced upstream projects. The deposit holds the Python scripts, the public raw files they read (UN Comtrade, Ember, IMF, World Bank, national statistics), every output table and figure, a number ledger that links each figure quoted in the paper to the script output it comes from, and the dated internal analysis plan.
