This dataset was used to determine the genetic diversity (the average number of alleles per locus, effective number of alleles, observed heterozygosity and expected heterozygosity), genetic differentiation (Fst), population structure, isolation by distance, distribution of genetic variation, and clonal occurrence (probability of identity) of 14 Bemisia tabaci populations sampled from Iraq. All populations showed low genetic diversity. The expected genetic diversity (He) was not significantly different between populations. Pairwise population differentiation (Fst) was significant for 80.3 % of the pairwise comparisons (73 out 91). There was no evidence for isolation by distance. Forty-two matching multi-locus genotypes and 177 unique ones were observed across all populations. Bayesian clustering analysis implemented in STRUCTURE suggested K = 3 to be optimal.
