Measurement report: 30 years of monitoring aromatic hydrocarbons (BTEX) at a suburban site in Europe

Dataset summaryThese datasets contain monthly benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) concentrations measured in ambient air at different Swiss monitoring stations: Dübendorf (DUE; 1994-2024), Zürich-Kaserne (ZUE, 2005-2024), Bern-Bollwerk (BER, 2011-2023) and Beromünster (BRM, 2018-2024). At DUE and BER, only BTEX are monitored using a gas chromatography photoionisation detector (GC-PID) while at ZUE and BRM, gas chromatography coupled with two flame ionization detectors (GC-FIDs) are used. Additionally, the dataset containing yearly (O)VOCs concentrations measured in ZUE has been included to support the BTEX monitoring in DUE. The (O)VOCs measurement are conducted according to ACTRIS CiGas guidelines. All the (O)VOC and BTEX concentrations are indicated in ppt.
