资源简介:
The Egg Producers' Council was set up with the general object of fostering co-operation between egg producers and their State organisations. In particular the Council was to improve the grading, packing, handling, shipment and export of eggs and poultry products; to secure and tabulate production reports; to obtain new markets and improvements in shipping; and to oversee the interests of growers and exporters.Members of the Council were drawn from each State's Egg Board, or from bona fide producers' organisations in those States which lacked a marketing board. The records of the Council consist of minutes of annual meetings, and of the Executive, Investigation, and Overseas Trade Publicity Committees; correspondence; copies of the Constitution; agendas; and reports. The reports include those done for the Council by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (C.S. & I.R.).The records of the Council have been arranged in two parts. The earlier records had no discernible arrangement when transferred, and they have been arranged by State Records according to the originating committee or officer of the Council (viz. the Executive; Pulp Stabilisation, Overseas Trade Publicity, and Investigation Committees, and the Secretary). From the financial year 1948/49 the Council's records were kept together in ring binders, and cover the following subjects: advertising, Australian Egg Board; competitions; general; committee minutes; meeting minutes; taxation; vouchers; and publicity. Two 1958 posters entitled "Bake a Cake", which are the artwork for advertisements to be placed in magazines for the purpose of selling eggs, have been extracted from 12/5211.2 and placed at SR Document Nos. 127-28.A full listing of these records is available. These records were held by the Egg Marketing Board.(12/5199.2-5212, 11/10302, SR Document Nos. 127-28). 14 boxes, 4 bundles, 2 posters.Note:This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
