Local Election Survey 1999

This survey was conducted in relation with the municipal and county elections in 1999. The purpose of the survey is to elucidate people's views of local elections and local democracies. The survey can also provide increased understanding of the individual voter's views of events in Norwegian municipalities. The survey was commissioned by the Institute of Social Research, by Tor Bjørklund, and was financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and Local Government. In 1995, Statistics Norway conducted a similar survey, also commissioned by ISF. The results of this survey are presented in Tor Bjørklund's book: "Valget i 1995 i lys av sosiale og politiske endringer".
