Impact of accreditation on medical education quality improvement in 82 medical schools in Japan: a descriptive study

This dataset accompanies an opinion article on the accreditation of medical education in Japan. It covers data from 82 medical schools evaluated by the Japan Accreditation Council for Medical Education (JACME) between 2015 and 2025 using the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) global standards. Sources include itemized accreditation review reports, information on the duration of clinical training, and questionnaire survey responses from medical schools. These materials provide the basis for examining changes in educational programs following the introduction of accreditation.
