Microbial landscape on multiple human body regions based on full-length PacBIo sequencing technology

To comprehensively understand the potential implication of microbiota on human health and disease, we investigated the complete microbial biogeography across multiple human regions including skin and several gastrointestinal organs simultaneously. Mucosal and luminal/swab samples from distinct sites (N=53) spanning the human body were surveyed using full-length (V1-V9) PacBio sequencing for bacterial profiling. The study will provide a systematic insight into understanding the relationship between microbial community across different body regions and their potential application in clinical management.
