Business expectations of number of employees in Canada 2021, by employment size

As of the first quarter of 2021, the majority of surveyed businesses in Canada forecast their number of employees to stay the same in the coming three months. Specifically, some 71 percent of companies stated this. Among businesses with 100 employees or more, 23.2 percent stated that the number of employees in their enterprises is likely to increase, whereas this share was much lower among small businesses with one to four employees (6.1 percent).
