Ovenbird Mist-netting Dataset

Data from a multi-year mist-netting study of ovenbirds (Seiurus aurocapilla) at a site in Maryland, USA.

The text files 'ovenCHpcapt.txt' and 'ovenCHptrap.txt' contain the ovenbird mist net data of Dawson & Efford (2009) re-analysed by Efford & Schofield (2022). The data are also included in the R package 'secr' (Efford 2022) where a more complete description may be found.

The format follows that used by 'secr', described in secr-datainput.pdf.

'Occasions' correspond to days. Detections were binary at the level of bird x net x day. Birds could be recorded in more than one net per day.
