Fractured global health convergence processes: examining the diffusion of road safety policies, 1957-2015

Unique cross-national longitudinal dataset with information of three policies: mandatory use of daytime running lights, child restraint legislation and presence of road safety agencies for 181 countries for the period 1957-2015. Information to establish the enactment in which each country implemented each policy was systematically gathered and coded according to a standardized scheme from: World Health Organization’s reports on road safety; national traffic laws; peer-reviewed journals; governmental and international organization reports, and personal communication via email with road safety country representatives.
