Chronic kidney disease is characterized by expansion of pro-inflammatory, HLA-DR-high intermediate monocytes and by increased monocyte adhesion to endothelial cells

We sequenced and analyzed the transcriptomes of PBMCs from the peripheral blood of 5 kidney transplant patients taken at the time of indicated biopsy. We filtered these data to focus on monocytes and compared these data with previously published monocytes/macrophage transcriptomes from paired biopsies. Overall design: 10X Chromium and NGS used for scRNA-seq of peripheral blood of transplant patients and previously published scRNA-seq data from paired biopsies to study monocyte and macrophage transcriptomes.
