Bangla Sign Language Novel Dataset

A distinct dataset of videos capturing Bangla sign language was collected systematically. The dataset from Dhaka Badhir High School encompasses students of various ages. The data collection process involved utilizing an 18-megapixel mobile camera carefully configured with a laptop. There were 50 participants in this study, 39 males and 11 females. The participants ranged in age from 12 to 25 years old. The large number of participants guarantees a sufficient and diverse representation in the dataset, providing sufficient data for robust model training and mitigating bias in the classification process.  The study protocol was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (IRB-No: 2022-02-016, approval date: November 16, 2022). The sign language video data collection from human participants was performed following the relevant guidelines and regulations of the Declaration of Helsinki.
