This report is a summary of the meteorology, hydrology, and oceanographic effects related to the extreme Mississippi River flooding during the summer of 1993. The report is comprised of two main sections, "Hydrometeorological Setting" and "Oceanography." "Hydrometeorological Setting" covers the factors that led to the flooding event in the upper basin, an analysis of the hydrology following the heavy precipitation, upper basin impacts, and future flood potential.
