Electrocytes are the cellular basis of electrogenesis. We used single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to analyze the diversity of cells in the muscle from the main EO of the elctric eel and the distribution and abundance of electrocytes. Overall design: The muscle sample from the main EO were analyzed using scRNAseq to find out electrocytes.
