Replication package for: Do wages buy robots? Relative factor prices, demographics, and robot adoption in the G20
收藏资源简介:
Data and code that reproduce the tables, figure and intermediate measures of "Do wages buy robots? Relative factor prices, demographics, and robot adoption in the G20". The package contains the estimation panel for 16 G20 economies, 1996–2024 (455 country-years); the UN Comtrade annual records for HS 847950 (industrial robots n.e.s.), all reporters, 1996–2025, from which the robot price and the leave-one-out price are built; and a Python script (replication/replicate.py) that reproduces Tables 2–4, 6, 7 and 9, the intermediate measures of Section 6.1 and the 26-year benchmark of Section 7, together with its output and Fig. 1. Running it needs Python 3.10 or later with numpy, pandas and scipy; from the package root, run python replication/replicate.py. Run time is a few minutes (the CIPS p-values use 2,000 simulations, seed 1). Sources: UN Comtrade (HS 847950), UNIDO INDSTAT (manufacturing wages and employees), World Bank World Development Indicators, UN World Population Prospects 2024. Estimates in the paper not produced by this script (the Mundlak decomposition, the pooled mean group estimates, MMQR and the Westerlund tests) were estimated in Stata 19.5. Details are in README.md.
