Aerosol and meteorological data from a tethered balloon during the Brigerbad campaign September-October 2021 (Switzerland)

The dataset introduced here originated from a field deployment with a tethered-balloon (Helikite) carrying the MoMuCAMS platform (Pohorsky et al., 2024) in a Swiss alpine valley (Brigerbad, Switzerland). The deployment was part of a test campaign for the development of the MoMuCAMS platform. The recorded variables, the instruments deployed during the campaign, along with the data processing steps are detailed below. The measurements focused on aerosol, trace gas and meteorological measurements as vertical profiles. In total, 26 Helikite flights provided data of aerosol concentration, number size distributions from 8 nm to 3370 nm, aerosol light absorption coefficients, mixing ratios of CO2, CO and O3 and meteorological variables. All the variables were time synchronized, quality controlled, and corrected by Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP) when necessary.
