Effects of corticosterone on risk assessment and antipredatory behavior of amphisbaenians

we examined experimentally whether, and to what extent, environmental stressors may affect risk-taking and antipredatory behavior of the strictly fossorial amphisbaenian reptile <i>Blanus cinereus</i>. We increased circulating levels of glucorticoids of amphisbaenians using a sustained in time non-invasive supplementations of corticosterone (CORT) and examined differences in exploratory behavior of a novel environment and responses to simulated predatory attacks.
