A Klebsiella pneumoniae clinical isolates was detected in the pharyngeal swab of a 63-year-old man in an otorhinolaryngology clinic of Nanfang Hospital in Guangdong Province in 2019, which was identified by the VITEK-2 system and confirmed by the matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation mass spectrometry . The patient was referred to an otorhinolaryngology clinic due to parotid abscess. Antimicrobial susceptibility tests showed that the strain was fully sensitive to all antibiotics except ampicillin. The Illumina NextSeq 500 and MinION platforms were used to sequence the whole genome of hvkp214. The strain had a 5.45-Mb chromosome and four plasmids with sizes of 177,011base pairs (bp), 113,492(bp), 104,55(bp) and 9,319 (bp), respectively.
