Share of e-waste formally collected in Asia 2022, by sub region

Throughout Asia, over 30 million metric tons of e-waste was generated in 2022. Of this volume, just under 12 percent was documented as formally collected and recycled. Eastern Asia had the highest share of e-waste collected, at 19.8 percent. The region includes both China and Japan, who are among the largest producers of e-waste worldwide.
