Georgia Rivers and Streams

This layer was created by the Research & Analytics Division of the Atlanta Regional Commission to represent the rivers and streams in the state of Georgia. It contains linear hydrographic features, including rivers, streams, and artificial flow paths through water bodies. Data were captured from USGS 7.5 minute mylar separates containing the "blue-layer" from the U.S. Geological Survey's 1:24000-scale quadrangle maps. Individual quadrangles were combined and edgematched using Arc/Info GIS software, and then clipped into individual county tiles using boundary data from the Georgia Department of Transportation's 1:31360-scale County General Highway Maps.
