Microbiome profiling of expressed prostatic secretions from patients with chronic prostatitis

This project contains 16S rRNA gene sequencing data generated from expressed prostatic secretion (EPS) samples collected from patients with chronic prostatitis. The sequencing data were used to characterize the microbial community present in the prostatic niche and to identify bacterial taxa associated with chronic prostatic inflammation. Microbial profiling revealed the presence of Halomonas hamiltonii, a species previously considered primarily environmental, in prostate samples. These data provide insights into the microbial composition of the prostate and support further investigation of microbial contributions to chronic prostatitis.
